How RRC Works

Vernal Equinox

When the leader's personal presence is strong and clear, the effect on those in his/her sphere of influence is illuminating.

When personal impact is clouded by low interpersonal awareness, the leader's ability to inspire others tends to remain in shadow.

RRC addresses the impact that the leader has on his or her colleagues, peers, line reports and clients. This impact proceeds from the level of discernment the leader uses to adapt personal style to the needs of each current situation.

Problems often occur when this discernment is low or lacking. At these times the senior manager lacks flexibility of approach and treats everything and everyone as if their levels of skill, experience and understanding are equal and fixed. This produces a 'one way suits all (and that is my way)' approach to managing others that is emotionally unintelligent and limited in outcome. In the most severe cases, the only variety of approach is volume or quantity of effort: 'if it doesn't work, I'll say it louder/do more of it!!'.

RCC enables fresh awareness of the variety of situation, individual and team diversity. New awareness produces new behaviour and a willingness to communicate and manage others powerfully, appropriately and effectively.

Radical Reintegrative Coaching (RRC) begins with a diagnostic phase which can include the collection of views on current impact from colleagues and reportees. A review of personal history to discover the roots of ineffective leadership behaviours will be undertaken. Subsequently, a learning agreement that links the work to current initiatives and projects, moving the recipient towards desired goals and improvements, is agreed with the client.

Layers of insight and experimentation follow until new behaviour is integrated into a richer and more effective style of leadership. The programme is pragmatically focused: new awareness is fundamental, but must quickly be integrated into visible new behaviour and action in the workplace to produce the required value add in commercial and human terms.

The coaching work is an intensive mixture of face to face meetings with telephone and email support over a three month period.

The desired outcome is a measurable increase in the ability to lead and communicate resulting in enhanced overall performance and influencing possibilities.
