In a world filled with seemingly endless possibilities and opportunities, it can be challenging to navigate and discover our true purpose.

In the old testament when Moses went up to Mount Sinai and he was gone for 40 days the Jewish people said they didn’t think he was ever going to come back and they started behaving in debased ways. In Moses' absence, they created a golden calf, they were engaged in immodest behaviors, and in short, doing all kinds of things that they should not do. Ironically, Moses was up on the mountain receiving commandments from God for how he expects us to behave. Because of the many times throughout their journey in the desert that they complained or questioned God. Even more ironically, they had to wander in in the desert for 40 years instead of being taken to the land of milk and honey because of their behavior. They struggled with their own interpretation of what God meant and whether or not they’d be able to abide in Him. It was their lack faith and understanding that kept them wandering.
What about us today? It feels like we are no different and we are still wandering in the desert trying to create interpretations that fit our situations or world views. We think we've come so far but really...we still have golden idols, we still act in depraved ways, we still complain and want things the way we want them but we refuse to turn to God and listen. What are your idols, depravities, complaints and stubbornness's? Until we truly see ourselves and our role in where we are today we can't move forward.
How much longer will we be left to wander around in the desert, because we can’t get it through our heads, because time and again we fail to remain faithful to God, our creator.
