Today, marks the 500th day I have been using the Hallow App!
AND
Today, I finished the Bible in a Year with Fr. Mike Schmitz that I started on my birthday last year, August 7th 2024 (exactly 365 days ago!)
What an experience! I understand so much better how we (people) got where we are today. The last two chapters of Revelation and the last chapters of Hebrews left me sitting in profound silence. I could see the whole story summed up in two words...
BY FAITH
These two words are used 19 times explicitly and implied more than 7 other times in Hebrews 11 alone. Add to that all the people who came to Jesus for healing, they acted by faith. In Matthew 14: 29; Peter by faith walked on water, though he sank in the very next verse because he did not keep faith. It goes on to say in verse 35-36 that when the people recognized who had come "they brought to Him all who were sick, and begged Him that they might only touch the fringe of his garment; and as many as touched it were made well." This is but another illustration of acting by faith.
Jesus said time and again 'your faith has saved you.' FAITH! Matthew 17:20 is where we learn that with a tiny bit of faith you can move a mountain! I have faith, but I have never moved a mountain because I also doubt. I do not doubt Jesus, I doubt me. But if I am made in the image and likeness of God, then I should learn to have faith like that. What a world we'd live in if only we lived by faith. That world is described in Revelation 21 & 22.
I have so many more questions and thoughts to share but I need to organize them better first. So let's leave this one with...
To Be Continued.
